mobythevan
A guy I work with owns this, it is one owner, 130K. I worked on it last year and put on a new turbo and ported exhaust manifold. It is in really nice shape. The guy is older and not really interested in it. $900, it seemed like it would be fun to tinker with
Guest 73Turbo240z
for $900 you can't go wrong, cars worth more in parts then that.
mobythevan
I forgot to mention that it lost power and stopped running over the course of a week, that is why he decided to sell. It should be fun to play with
proxlamus©
MSnS on the Talon?!? yummy
mobythevan
MSnS is what I'm thinking around summer time. Get it running first and drive it a little. I didn't realize he had purchased all of this stuff and didn't install it. It comes with the following parts: already installed: EVO III 16G turbo EVO III exhaust manifold Walbro 255 fuel pump not installed yet: nice brand new 3" intercooler boost controller and install kit re-wire kit for fuel pump to boost voltage K&N filter and 3" intake kit boost gauge and pod mount ball bearing shifter kit K&N valve cover breather filter All the goodies to hit the pavement with 300hp I'm thinking. Guest ON3GO
thats a mid 12sec car right there.. i had 2 1st gen AWD DSM's. with a mild 16G, reg tires on stock wheels, boost at 19psi, fuel pump, 2 stock 3000GT VR4 intercoolers, crushed bov and dumped exhaust i was running 12.3's all day long on 93pump. ppl have done that with the stock 14B turbo too.. i also had a 20G turbo DSM.. the 16G would romp it on the street! have fun with that sucker! mike
mobythevan
Was that just running with stock ECU and injectors? I haven't done any research yet to see where the stock parts run out of steam. Since it is a MAF system it should be pretty easy to up boost until injectors are the limit. Guest ON3GO
stock ecu.. i forget on injectors but there pretty big.. i think 450cc. i remember having 720cc's on the 20G.. i just forget on the 16G gsx.... i think stock. i think i had all fuel supported parts but stock injectors.. mike
BringIt
those are the cars i learned on. They say with a DSM if you arent a mechanic yet you will become one. After owning one for 4 years. I know wayyyy too much about DSMs now.

mobythevan
Also found out after I picked up the car that it has a palm pilot with datalogging software and data cable is installed. Fuel pressure gauge is also installed. Man, he gave up at the wrong time, he had everything ready to go. Pics

mobythevan
Its going to be a couple weeks before it hits the road. The timing belt was loose and it slipped so the valves are bent. I got it pulled down to the belt tonight and confirmed, I can slip the belt around the crank gear by hand, its that loose. Rockers are also way loose on the intake so the valves are toast. If the pistons are good and the head can be rebuilt it will be back up in no time. I needed something to keep things from getting boring, ugh......
