ZetoZeto99
Well this is my first 'older' cars in a few years... and I'm wondering what your thoughts are on using full synthetic oil on a L28E.... I'm sure there are advantages with using syn. oil but am I better off with dino oil?
Synlubes
If the equipment is mechanically sound, any synthetic is better than petroleum. You can find some information about Amsoil products on my website.
ZetoZeto99
Sweet. Thanks. I have used MOTUL for about a year and then switched to TORCO... I have heard alot of great stuff about AMSOIL.
KTM-EXC
I think Amsoil is great! I put it in pretty much every car my family owns, even my dirtbike. Though I have not tried it in my car because I was worried using full synthetic in an older car with this many miles (just over 100k). Not to long ago I had my dad send out to be an Amsoil dealer so pretty soon I will be getting it at real good prices if anyone needs any. BusterZ
If your converting an engine that has already run petroleum based oils long enough to build up deposits, switching to a synthetic 'may ' loosen those deposits causing problems with the engine (bearings, plug passages ... ). Most synthetic oils are very good detergents and will "clean out" residual carbon, etc as you run them. Amsoil and Royal Purple are probably two of the best blends available right now. ZetoZeto99
I wasn't planning on using it right away... either after a re-build or when I swap in an L28ET... just wanted to know if anyone had any experience using syn oil in our ol' cars.
