Guest MickieB
Hey guys, I'm looking to draw more power from my new zed i'll be purchasing in the next month. I was looking at either a V8 or RB25 conversion but i don't think i want to spend the money at this stage. I was wondering how hard it would be for me to supercharge the L26? A friend told me the supercharger from the early model toyota mr-2 was the go but yeah thought i'd put the question out to the pros. Thanks
Bartman
Check with kjones , he was working on a setup for an L28 that may work on an L26 as well. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99330
zane9000
I am working on supercharging my l28 right now... Its not easy. Lots of custom stuff to be done. Also, If you have an L26 you will problably have carbs, which means you need to switch over to efi. (OK, you dont NEED to, but it just gets even harder if you dont). Also you will have to deal with higher compression of the L26 v. L28et. If you want more power out that car and you want somthing that is "easy", just do a turbo swap from an 280zxt. thehelix112
Been there, done that. I brought my L28ET with a SC14 1GGZE supercharger attached. Good for a whopping 4psi of un-intercooled goodness. My setup was extremely argicultural, no bypass valve for when the supercharger was switched off, draw through Holley (cough) so no intercooling. Basically, it sucked. If you're going to do it, do it properly, can't remember who has that green zed with a very clean supercharger install around here? I'm sure he'll pipe up. Looks tidy as! Bernardd
280zedx supercharged his l28. He placed the supercharger on the right side of the engine bay with piping thru an ic then to the throttle body. he's using a megasquirt fuel only setup and has no problems with it. he's making 6psi on a m62 off of a mid 90's gm sedan. it works really well. Guest MickieB
Damn i was looking for an answer like "Yeah just bolt it onto the side and run the belt out and she'll be sweet". I hate reality..
SHO-Z
Do a search for "TR6 supercharger" on the internet, they have about the simplest set up. Single JAG SU, Eaton supercharger.
