nazar
ok guys, here is some things i found out I went to autozone and bought a slave cylinder, part # 10380 which is not made of metal instead of plastic, its for the t5 tranny with the bleeder screw and i assume it will fit my t56 I was going to drill and tap it but reading my jtr book, there is now a page that shows a Mcleod fitting # 139026 which is a male roll pin end to a an4 thread. This plugs right into the slave GM style and hte other end is a 4an thread. was this not available before??? This way you can throw a braided line on there, no need to tap or drill anything, and you can use a t5 metal slave from autozone now instead of plastic
John Scott
The metal T5 slave has been around for a few years. I think I had mine in the late 90s with the Procharged V6. Thanks for putting up the part# as I need to update the list. I'm using the Ford F150 master and line (Juju's idea many many years ago) so both ends use the roll pin. The slave is for the T5, and GM aftermarket T56 using the T5 bell housing. Not sure about the T56? John
nazar
i thought al t5 slaves fit t56? If this is a factory replacement for a t5 slave, why would it not work on a t56? And if not, can i buy a replacement t56 slave and will the mcleod fitting fit it as well?
Mike kZ
A T5 slave will work on a T56, I have been running one for 5 years. The Mcleod fitting is a new part, I wish it was around when I did my swap.
nazar
the fitting is $50 but at least it works so the replacement aluminum t5 slave from autozone WILL work on a t56? The fitting is on the side but it should still work. I think i will just drill and tap it since its metal and not plastic, that mcleod fitting is $50!! jbc3
I used the stock T-56 slave and took the braided line to a local hydraulic hose shop and had them cut the MC end off and press an AN fitting on the hose. The stock line is too short, so I ran hard line off the master cyl long enough to fit. ~ 10" - 12" Jody
gvincent
What is the metal T5 slave part # anybody have this info? I looked at Auto Zone online and they are all the plastic ones from what I can tell. I have a 1995 LT1/T56 and will be getting the Tildon 7/8 master that everyone on this site seems to prefer but I would like to use the Metal T5 slave instead of the plastic one. jbc3 any problems so far with the stock T56 slave setup you modified and how did you bleed it? I might just go that route if it is cheaper and works as well as the T5 slave.
gvincent
After much searching on and off this site I have come up with the following numbers and manufacutrers, the only problem is when I look at the part # online it looks plastic. Can anybody verify any of these part numbers as being the METAL T5 slave cylinder? Raybestos SC37821 Bendix or Brake Ware 10380 Wagner F126869 Dorman CS37821 Thanks, Greg

piston
believe it or not, i used the stock t56 slave and bought an air fitting from work and grinded it down with an hand held cutter. i tried to cut the air fitting to make it as close as possible to the mcleod fitting and put it in the slave and guess what, it friggen works and doesnt leak...i had to buy a brass fitting and used a -4 fitting with teflon and saved myself 50.00 bucks...
