Help with hub...

Recommended Posts

Iv been having a problem with the drivers side front hub staying tite. after the I left the other night on the way home, going down jone and the

front wheel bearing came apart. I had to leave the car on vegas an jones, then the next day I came back to fix it. upon inspection the outer bearing was totaly gone/ the inner bearing is still good. The inner part of the outer bearing was stuck on the spindle(there were no needle bearings left) and had to cut it off. when you look at the spindle it looks as if the hub is to nero, and the bearing is geting titened on to the taper of the spindle, thus not alowing the hub to be fully titend and in turn destrode the hub( the race just drops in now).

So now I need a new hub for the drivers side. Last time I was out at the junk yard they only had 260-280z's, an I called nissan and they want $250.00 for a new one.

Now I need to know will the 260 or 280 hub fit a 240z spindle.

I dont have a lot of $$ or I would buy a new one.

the spindle is still good. just need a hub and bearings

O it might be good to bring up that I just did the front bearings a month ago. and yes everything was done right an was not showing any problem.

tell a week ago. the hub was lose so I titend it, and it was good. tell this.

Sorry if this makes no sence.

It's from another thread Sorry.

It sort of makes sense (I think?). Any Z hub will fit onto any Z spindle, but you'll need the rotors to go with the hubs because the later Z hubs pushed the rotors inboard a few millimeters (not sure how many), and consequently, the matching rotors had less offset by the same amount. This way the proper hub/rotor combination would always fit onto any Z spindle (strut) and still keep the caliper lined up correctly with the rotor.
