right on...but can a train a mile long accelerate 5 mph in 10 sec? noot likely. wait until you are at a train crossing and the train stops right on the crossing. It takes that train forever to take off again...

Ever ride in a fast train? The kind that has a 75mph initial speed?

22.7492hrs

This is correct.

Simple physics, but that wording was horrible. With questions like that you just gotta use common sense. I'm in Phys180, which is one of the requirements for my B.S Mechanical Engineering degree, I see problems like this all the time in my homework, and they suck.

>> solve('75*x+(1/2)*5*x^2=3000')

ans =

-15+5*57^(1/2)

-15-5*57^(1/2)

>> -15+5*57^(1/2)

ans =

22.7492

as you can see' date=' velocity is increasing, otherwise the graph would be one of a straight line.[/quote']

omg i HATE matlab...

actually right now I hate engineering in general. school blows, most of my friends get out or have gotten out this/next week.

Lol i owned the computing for engineers final yesterday somehow (matlab+fortran77+excel) but i've been getting 50's on the tests. Class averages are in the 40's...

yeah... I can appreciate matlab, but I still hate it!
