big-phil
The HY35W that seems to be the turbo to put on the L28. What is the A/R of the cold, and hot side. And what about the HX35 like this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Ram-CUMMINS-HOLSET-TURBOCHARGER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitemZ8062237246QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
proxlamus©
the HX turbo has a different a/r and spools much slower... with my HY35W the way my tuning is right now, I get boost at about 3,400 RPM in 4th gear.. and boost by 3,800 in 2nd gear.. soo it's already a laggy turbo.. and the HX would be even worse spend the time to find a HY turbo

mtcookson
The turbo pictured in that Ebay auction is an HY35W. The HY's have a single chamber turbine and use the v-band clap to hold the turbine to the center section. An HX35 has a two chamber turbine and uses bolts to hold the turbine to the center section. That person listed the turbo as an HX when it is really an HY, if what he is selling is what is pictured.
big-phil
Are you positive? I thought the HY had the 90 deg. bend comming off the compressor?
mtcookson
The newer HY's have the 90 degree bend (something like 2004.5 and up or 03 and up). The older HY's are pretty much exactly like the HX minus the 9 cm, single entry turbine housing and a slightly smaller compressor. They both have the same style compressor housing with the v-band flange on the end.
