burntz
I want to place my MSD 6AL in the passenger compartment behind the passenger seat. Will this effect it's performance? I'm planning on using a larger guage wire than what's provided with the unit to connect to the coil and the dizzy. What do you guys think? JaysZ
i've seen plenty of boxes located inside, i don't see how it could be a problem but then again, i don't know if they have other provisions in place to boost voltage to the coil/dizzy either. i doubt that one is even necessary.. Mike C
You want to extend the big red power wire as little as possible on an MSD box per their instructions. If your battery is still in the engine compartment, under the dash on the passenger footwell would be great, but behind the seat a little far IMO. If you do lengthen it, read for minimum wire sizes (I think 10ga) and ground the MSD wire to the chassis and I would also run another ground from the attachment point of the MS's ground to the battery or engine block.
