Guest Ron
O.K. here is your dumb question for the day. I am replacing my front calupers with the Toyota units and I have read everywhee to trim the backing plate. I plan on installing cooling ducts so why not just leave the backing plate off? Will that cause the earth to change its axis?
Guest Ron
Obviously I'm spoiled by "spell check".
blueovalz
Removal of the backing plate is what most of us do, and I saw no effect of this with its removal.
2126
As Terry mentioned, removal of the backing plates is very common. Relocating the parts to a box or dumpster is also quite common.....mine now reside within a cardboard box in my garage! Tom
Guest Ron
Thanks Terry. Beautiful car. I'm doing a 280YZ and taking a lot of your ideas. Very nice job.
Chewievette
I'd been wondering the very same thing, so thanks for asking! I've gathered a few cuts on those things at some time or other, when I redo the brakes they are coming off!
