lowrider
im looking at a 280z that the body is in great shape. they say the motor runs ,but when put in gear it spits and sputters.the people that they talked to said it was either the injectors or the auto choke.is the injectors, the auto choke,or is it another problem?oh yea, it is a 1975 fuel injected model. olie05
hmmm I've never heard of an auto choke on a fuel injected L engine. If you have patience to fix it, it would be worth it, otherwise find one that already works.
lowrider
i dont know alot about the engines, thats why i was asking for the cause of the problem.now that i get to thinking it may not be an autochoke,it may be an air flow sensor.i dont know. Thumper
Umm more details are needed alot more. But my best guess would check for a intake leak behind the afm. The car will idle with a big hole but as soons as you give it gas it will die.
mom'sZ
Like thumper said, we're going to need some more info to help you out you said in your second post i dont know alot about the engines... So even if we tell you what we think might be wrong, are you mechanically competent enough to check it out? If not, you're going to need a mechanic to check it out for you anyhow. If you are then from your first post you wrote it is a 1975 fuel injected model... my guess would be TPS (throttle position switch) ****please note I said 'guess'*** I'm also guessing you are considering buying this car? If so, welcome to the hybridZ community and have fun with your new Zcar
