olie05
lol, yes they can make a tensioner that will go to 13000rpms, but they will be hard pressed to get an nissan L to that rpm. oh yeah, search!

Guest 280ZForce
so with that tensioner and an aftermarket dampner, then would it be possible? well i'm sure an aftermarket cam w/ a major powerband as well.
Russ
Gonna need some very light and strong internals for that, and lots of balancing
HS30-H
Gonna need some very light and strong internals for that, and lots of balancing Russ, Kameari Engine Works ( the makers of the 'Twin Idler Cam Chain Tensioner' ) don't claim that the engine would ever spin to 13,000rpm. They merely mention that they have spun their tensioner kit to 13,000rpm on a testing rig during development. Some cynics said that the design would never stand high rpm use - so Kameari tested how fast it would spin with simulated loads. We have discussed this kit more than once before on Hybrid-Z, so the SEARCH function will throw up a lot of the questions ( and some answers ) about it. Matt Bannister and Charles Barter have them fitted to the engines that they are using in the HSCC 70's Roadsports race series here in the UK. Matt has won two out of the three races so far. You should ask him about his 'before' and 'after' impressions, Russ. Alan T.
rc's240z
I have one of these, although I have not installed it yet. Alan is correct regarding the tensionser's capabilities...as far as high RPM, I dont know of anyone running more than about 9500RPM in an L18 motor for any substantial length of time. thehelix112
I would also definitely be interested. Anyone going to be purchasing the forged fully counterweighted stroker crank? A cool $5000 or so. Hehe. Dave
