RB26 Valve Clearance Specifications

My machinist brought up a question about the R32 service manual specifications.

On page EN-73 it states clearances of:

Intakes to be 0.45 +or- 0.03

Exhaust to be 0.38 +or- 0.03

 

Should not these specs be reversed? His reasoning being the exhaust side heats up and expands more and would logicaly need more clearance.

 

And.. Does anyone have a source they would recommend for ordering the shims?

Here is the site I told you about. They have all the shims you might need. Not cheap, but they are the right part and good quality. I've ordered parts from these guys before and never had a problem.

The RB26 exhaust valves are sodium filled and made of inconel.
