Control arm update...

I have been out for a few weeks due to an illness and computer problems but seem to have everything working again...So, for those of you interested in the adjustable control arms Mike Kelly and I were working on here is an update:

The front arms are finished!! Finally my Dad was able to get the jigs finished up which, by the way, were made by a friend of his who happens to be a tool and die maker. I was not aware of this detail until last night. The jig for the front arms are really cool!! They will, without a doubt, allow each and every arm we make be identical. We have a prototype arm all finished and I am going over to Mike's this evening so he can take some pics with his digital camera and post them here for all to see.

I am taking one of the rear arms to my Dad this evening after leaving Mike's so he can start on the jigs for the rear. I hope they do not take as long to complete.

Chris,

Good to see you back. Thanks for the update on the arms.

In the JTR book its recommended to drill new mounting attachment holes for the arms on lowered cars. Do you or Mike still agree that this is ok to do with these new adjustable arms?

Danno,

It should be fine to do the JTR mod with the new arms. Mike has done this mod on his crossmember and we will take a look at it this evening to make sure everything clears.

Doh! I just yesterday sent my arms over to the powdercoating shop! Going to be Red Barron red including the mustache bar and all of the other parts I was able to undo back there except for shafts, rear, and struts. They wanted my first born but it shoudl look nice for years to come and be tough as nails. for those of you putting on these arms I'd reccomend investing in powdercoating - in my experience it beats paint hands down.
