TheNeedForZ
From "Top Gear". The car that beats all others on the circuit track. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5690527907781299378 Does the CCX still use the supercharged ford modular engine? I wonder how the car will hold up against the newer twin turbo saleen.

Guest ON3GO
they said it will run not only one pump and race type gas but if you tune the engine to run on bio-deisel (sp?) it will produce over 900hp..... watch the 1st filming they did on the car, it was insane! mike
BringIt
Still based on a Ford Engine. Its probably just aftermarket block and CNC ported heads. Also still uses all the Ford Electronics. VT Engines in Lansing, MI builds the engines for them. ( Great Modular Mustang Engine Builder )
JaysZ
i remember the previous model used a Ford engine but they said this CCX uses its own in-house engine. according to "the Stig" it also needs a rear spoiler to keep its @$$ down
JustinOlson
It definitely wont run on bio diesel, but will run on E85 which is common in sweden where the car was developed. E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Its a forced induction cars dream fuel for every day driving. 30psi easy without detonation!
riverz
THat is the only car that top gears driver has ever crashed that I know of. Had very little down force. They sent back to the factory for a rear wing.

But I have talked to Christian (The Owner/President of Koeniggseg) on the Phone before and he told me that the engine is just aftermarket ford parts. Take it as you will, he also explained to me how his dual centrifugal superchargers worked and all I can say is it is Badass.

Guest l28et
Ive heard this car holds the highest speeding ticket record. 230+MPH in Texas.
JMortensen
WHAT?!?! Well I have heard of the E85 fuel but didn't know it is a good turbo fuel. Any story or data to back that? E85 is mostly alcohol from grains. It has a higher octane rating than gas and just like an alcohol drag racer you can run more boost when you're using it without detonating. You could probably run 12:1 compression too on a NA car. http://www.agriculture.state.ia.us/e85q&a.html Ethanol has less energy content than gasoline. However, E85 also has a much higher octane (ranging from 100 to 105) than gasoline.

Thanks Jon.
JustinOlson
Here is a turbo mustang running 30psi: http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/index.php?topic=47094.
TheNeedForZ
thanks for the link. There is nothing like running on 30psi and use a fuel sponsored by the GOVERNMENT!
