Guest SHARKMAN
I want to know if it is a requirement that you have coil-overs to be able to use the cobra wheels. I'm not worried about wheel flares. I just want to know if they will hit the struts or anything else. I would not mind running 1/4" spacers if I have to. I am interested in the 17x10.5. I have seen 12" rims used before on other cars,But I never got the details on if they had to use coil-overs to get extra space or what. I have quite a lot of room with this ARIZONA Z CAMEL GT kit. It would be nice if I could use those all the way around. Correct me if Iam wrong, but aren't those 16x12" rims on john coffey's race car? Mikelly
No way, no how. I'm gonna have to cut one corner of the spring seat (Ground Control unit) off just so my 17X9 wont rub. You must use coil overs. Without them you would have to get lond wheel studs and use one hell of a wheel spacer, like 2inches... DavyZ
Hey Sharkman, Arizona Z won't do squat in returning my messages so I'll ask you--is the kit as nice as the limited view front end picture we see on their website? Was it worth it? Could you possibly get some pics, even preliminary ones, on a paint & body thread? I really wonder about that kit, but all I see is front end only. Please help us out if you can. Thanks, man. David
Guest Anonymous
Davy, You may want to check out the kit from Reaction Research. Seems that everyone who has their stuff really likes it. They have a kit that I assume is a great deal like the Arizona Z kit. You can check it out at: www.reactionresearch.com/280yz.html Chris
pparaska
Didn't someone here say that Arizona Z car is now totally out of the fiberglass business?
Guest SHARKMAN
well to start with I bought this kit from A guy who had somehow managed to talk to dave either buy phone or buy e-mail. He decided to sell it for reasons unknown. He paid 1800.oo buy the time he had it shipped to california,I got it for half price. The rear of the car is the same as the picture of the road race clip that looks kind of like a corvette. As I stated after I bought the kit The quality was a little on the rough side,But thatwas on the front end. I wasn't worried about that because I would have to get it ready to paint anyway. MKELLY is the person I really have to thank for helping me to find the kit.As far as pictures go I hope to have some real soon I have some but they were taken on a rainy day in side the so they didn't turn out very good. The rear clip was pretty easy. Now the front Is a lot more work than I had expected but isn't that the way things go. Hey Mkelly I know what your saying about the wheels that's why I asked the question. But can you tell me how john coffey got those wheels on his car. It looks like a lot of offset to me. So if I went to 9" will I still have to use coils? I just want to plan all my purchase's in the correct order. I went for a ride in a turbocharged scarab real nice It had simons wheels on it they were 8x16" in front and 10x16" in the rear no coil overs were used so the answer must be in the off-set or back spacing. Oh those simons wheels are only 600.00 or so each. That is way more than I want to pay. Those wheels were 4 bolt not five. I'm just trying to put as much tire and wheel on my car as I can. You know we all have idea's some times they work and some times we say afterwards "what was I thinking of". As for dave at Arizona Z he must not want to sell anything to anybody because it sounds like he is rude to every body or atleast to all of us. If it wasn't for MKELLY I woudn't have this kit I have at all. When I tried to find out about the kit he told me it was for racer's onlyand that he only sold to racers only. It wasn't what he said that made me mad. It was more the way he said what he said. sorry guys but he realy P-----me off. I will never buy anything from arizona z unless someone else owned it. Pictures coming soon!
BLKMGK
I won't go "there" concerning Arizona - I've beat that horse to death. However, I too am curious about what wheel width will work 5lug with and without coilovers. I will be trying my 17X8 Mustang wheels and my RX7's wheels to see hwo they fit and will let everyone know when the times comes. Pics too maybe - the Mustang wheels will look pretty goofy I think. pparaska
Well, I don't know, but if my company went belly up, I'd yank the web site. http://www.arizonazcar.com is still working.
