Guest ZFury
That blue Z is hear in Arkansas? I really like what you have done with it. There is a guy that lives down the street from me with a great little Z. Very clean, looks as if even the under side was painted. So it possibly was a total rebuild. I wonder if he comes on here. Forces
Jake' date=' you're the second or third guy to try that. I don't remember reading too much negative on using the bedliner in the engine bay. It looks OK and I'm sure it's more abrasion resistant than paint is!!! Prep will be key. If you do a decent job, it should come out looking pretty good. I'm going to use trunk paint in my engine bay. I like the look of that stuff. Davy[/quote'] I've got a buddy who used black barbaque paint in his engine bay (rust proof by the way) and it came out looking awsome...much better than I thought it would. Just throwing some other ideas on the table.
Bowtiez
I used semi gloss black epoxy primer and a detail gun.
jacob300zx
So today me and a friend took off all of the front end. I'm getting it ready for the truck liner. Also it seems the car was in a mild accident at one time. There is a little bit of a crease in the frame in front of the shock towers. Not a big deal since its ahead of anything structural or important. My guess is its going to make lining up the fenders a B**ch. Pics of the progress can be viewed here. Oh and in the last picture what don't i need?? http://good-times.webshots.com/album/553613888gqrCMV I also ordered a welder to do a little rust repair. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114114 Oh, and Danny thanks for all those parts you sold me. I came by Sunday and gave your wife the money. She said you were out at a friends. I need to come by this week and take pictures of your engine bay. There are soooo many wires and cables it looks like a bomb went off in my engine bay. Also off the subject. I did some SCCA racing last weekend. Man that was a blast. Bowtiez
Thanks, I should be home all week getting ready for "High Speed Touring" at Hallett Raceway in Oklahoma September 16th and 17th. The Z Car Club of Texas wants me to run with them on Sunday. Not sure if my brakes and tires will last until Sunday. I am planning on running with the Little Rock Racing Scene crew on Saturday. Should be a blast.
