Dayz
Hi guys, I am cleaning up the engine bay. I welded all the holes, will run my wiring harness in the upper body frame and...I am now re-routing my fuel and brake lines. If I get an electric fuel pump instead of the mechanical one, I will be able to eliminate some fuel lines in the engine bay. -Is is a good idea? -Is an electric fuel pump as reliable as a mechanical one? -What kind of pump should I get? If you have pictures of that change post them please. Thanks Dayz
COZY Z COLE
After looking at some of your old posts which car are you talking about and are you doing a restoration or modifing one with a engine swap??? LARRY
Dayz
Sorry Cozy, This is a restoration. My racing project is on the side at the moment. The engine will be completely stock. Thanks
jnjdragracing
If your engine will be stock I would use the mechanical fuel pump, no need to mess with the electric one. John
flames_187
from what i heard..the mech. pumps are decent and strong...my car sat for 2 years and the feul pump was the least of my problems...from what i can tell
2126
Dayz, Electric fuel pumps are just fine, plus you will free up a little HP that a mechanical pump requires to operate. My only recommendation is to get a gear driven pump as opposed to a diaphram type pump.....the gear type pump design is less noisey!!!
