gexgexgexgex
I have done a lot of searching and found that the JTR kit is the one for me and my lt1 4l60e swap into my 73 240z. But the tranny mont has got me thinking, the JTR book says that i need to change the tranny tail to the Caprice one for the exhaust to fit. So i was thinking what if i used the Johns car tranny crossmember with the JTR motor monts would that work? Maybe i do not need to use the Caprice tail housing? If so i would just use the JTR tranny mont. Also how does the johns car tranny mont "bolt" in? I heard it uses some kinds of "nuts" but i do not understand that. DavyZ
It looks nearly identical to the JTR mount, but it includes some "doubler plates" that are placed in the interior (other side of the floor). Don't go there IMO. Davy

Brad-ManQ45
The 4L60E that I have has mounting holes on the transmission case underneath just in front of the tailshaft housing. The Caprice tailshaft housing has the holes on it so the t-mount is further back, allowing more room for the exh pipes to get closer to the tranny. I have a '94 Z28 4L60E and JTR told me I would have to change the tail housing to use their mount. He didn't really tell me all the reasons, just the mounting hole location thing. gexgexgexgex
so has anyone not used the caprice tail housing and had it work, because to me i just seems like it may be a little harder to run the exhaust. But it would say a few $$$ and save alot of time. From what I am hearing it will bolt in just a few inches closer to the front.
