ADVICE, Brakes REDONE

I have just bought a 72 240z , headers, cam, rebuilt engine , some head work 30,000 miles ago. Had to put on Rebuilt calipers, turned rotors, new pads front / rear, new actuators rear, new brake fluid and bleed system. Brakes are stock.

When bought car you could push brake pedal about 40% before feeling brakes start to engage. AFTER ALL THE NEW BRAKES put on and bleed the pedal still goes about 30% before you feel any pressure against foot . The brakes work great if you press harder just seems that they take to much pedal pressure to make work ? IS THIS NORMAL TO THIS MODEL CAR ? Car has a master cylinder with vacumm attached. Pic attached. Cam is mild and has plenty of vacumm.

Thank you much for any help or suggestions this is my first post and FIRST Z.. much work ahead of me.

regards JOHN

:D Have you adjusted the rod going from the foot assemble to the master cyclinder yet? You can lay on the floor under the steering wheel and adjust it with a few wrenchs. All you have to do is loosen it up and turn the bar out until you reach the point you want. It may take you a few times to get it right. But it does work pretty good. Good Luck, Rich.
