z_cars_rule
those motors can go really well, there are a fair few people running them with nice sized turbos hanging off the side running 10sec 1/4s on street tyres in heavy arsed cars. obviously the have different internals etc, but still impressive. Greywolf
I've got one here in the States. I haven't found anyone in Australia who has done the swap into a Z-car, so I may beat all the Aussies to it here in the US! Getting parts has been slow, though, as my importer closed shop and never shipped half the stuff I ordered, been fighting for a new source and a refund. I'm kind of off the radar until my car is running again, but hopefully that won't be too much longer. I've never been to sunshine, only DeSoto. Isn't that 1/8 mile? I'm all for going to the track one of these days. I'll keep you posted on the progress. I'd love to see the rex. Greywolf, are you going to put that in a Z? I think that would look great in an early mustang, or maybe a maverick. Oh wait, a ford capri! You could be all "Yeah, it's just a six cylinder" and under your breath you could be like "turbo...heh heh"... That would be awesome. Greywolf
Better than that: A 1979 Mercury Zephyr station wagon. Was my first car. So far it's got SVO brakes, GT front spindles, polygraphite all around, and various other things that don't hurt the granny look. Still on the stock 200-6/C4/2.73 drivetrain with 340K miles. Ben Edit: I'm looking at a turbo version of it (or the OHC XR6T) for the Datsun. The mounts for this and a T-5 fall very, very close to those of the Datsun and it's only a hair tall near the front...
