that240guy
Does anybody have or know where I can get a full wiring diagram for a 260Z? I want to seperate my engine harness from my headlight/housekeeping harness so that I can wire in my LS1 as cleanly as possible. If you have this info, please post or email me at s13trbo@yahoo.com thanks.

nicedat
Could I possibly get a copy of this as well, am having trouble with the diagrams i have. The Aussie 260Z i have has different color wires than in the manual, plus it doesn't have any of the safety switches. The JTR manual is different again to the wiring in my early 74 260Z 2+2. Is the Aussie model different, this is pissing me off !! My email is nicedat@optusnet.com.au
VinhZXT
The240guy, I just did this with 2 280Zs for the LS1 swaps and I didn't need any wiring diagrams. If you cut open all the tapes to expose all the wires then you can follow thru and cut everything except for: 1. The head lights wires- (the 3 big red wires) 2. The running and signal lights wires - (green wires) 3. The horn wire 4. Ground wires. 5. The wiring harness to the wiper motor. There are also wires going to the driver side along the firewall that are for the brake fluid reservoir and the windshield washer pump and a ground for the brake cylinder. I didn't need any of these on my car so I cut them as well. Also don't forget to run 2 thick wires to your electric fan before you wrap everything back up. You can cut all these wires all the way up to those connectors inside the car with the exception of the BLK/WHT wire. This is the ignition wire. You might want to leave 6" of wire from the connector just incase you need this for later use. Also there is another connector that leads to the fuse block you want to leave some slack on these wires for later use. I used 3 wires from this connector to feed the power to the LS1 harness. I think I have some more details on these wiring on my web page (page 8). GL Vinh
that240guy
I havn't taken a close look at my wiring yet. So far I have only removed the complete underhood harness from the big junction block in the passenger footwell. I am going to paint my engine bay and fill some holes in. I want to remove as much extra wiring from my car as possible so i wanted to see which connectors and which pins these wires go to and start from there. I also didn't know what those two giant gold colored doorbell looking things were for. I still need to do what you said and unwrap the harness so I can see exactly what to remove. I just wanted to see the diagram for extra insurance. Thanks for ther heads up though.

hearseman
I'm sorry to say that I could sure use a wireing diagram as well. My e-mail is k_schemp@yahoo.com Thank you
ZZZeee
Dave... If that diagram is for an early production 260 (should be the same as late '73 240, I think) I could use a copy of that wiring diagram too.

toddcripe
Dave, I'm going blind trying to read my Haynes wiring diagram for the 260 I'm ready to rewire with an e-z wiring kit. If you can email the diagram referred to in thread, that would be fabulous.

HLS30-08077
Sorry Dave, I think I beat ya to the punch. He wrote me and I sent him all the 260Z diagrams that you sent me, including the modified ones that I mentioned to you after you sent them to me. So if he does'nt respond to your PM, you'll know why. Thanks again, Dave I.
toddcripe
guys, thanks for the response on the 260 wiring diagram. David Irwin sent me an awesome diagram that I've blown up to 6 feet by 3 feet. I didn't really want to redo the dash wiring unless I had to so the roadmap will save me a ton of time with the EZ-Wire job I'm going to start Saturday for my 260 with sbc. phlicker13
I know this is an old thread, but I could really use that diagram as well... I'm trying to put a wiper motor from my 260 parts car into my 280, and of course the plugs don't match and all the wires are different color... My 280 wiring diagram has all the wires coded on it, but the only one for the 260 I have is black and white and tells me nothing at all. Thanks!! Rod in NC
I have attached a very clean jpeg file in a zip file....24MB, so it may take a while to download. But you can zoom in and it is very easy to read. I too have plotted this on a 3' x 4' sheet and posted on my wall. Hopefully you all can download this. This is for a 74 260Z. -Rod
