Stub Axle removal

Recommended Posts

Why can't I find a shop in San Diego to do this for me? I mean the arms are off and completely disasimbled, it wont take much if any effort to pop them out, new bearings, and then pop it back in. But I have been bounced around shops for three days now. There has to be a shop around here that will do it. Or does anyone have any tips on how to do it myself.

There are quite a few posts about that subject here, all you need to do is search for them. The Atlantic Z Car Club has a great tech info section which has step by step write ups on most general maintenance procedures.

Whenever you start a new project, be it bushings or whatever, check there first. Here is the stub axle page: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/rearwheelbearings/index.html

You might also check the spindle pin info on that site if you're doing the rear control arm bushings.

Thanx, some good info on that site. I'm hopping I can find a local shop to do it for me though. I am in the middle of midterms right now so time is something I don't have alot of. Not to mention I dont really have the tools to do it my self. But if I have to get creative I guess I will.
