MONGO510
not hard, but it can get expensive. You will need to find someone who is willing to ship you the parts from Japan or Australia. Parts needed include: Steering rack, Steering column, Parking brake parts, Dash board, Pedal assemblys, Wiring, Wiper linkages, Cowl, etc.
HS30-H
........Parking brake parts............ The Parking Brake parts in an HLS30 are already RHD spec. If you reside in an LHD market, the most important thing you need for this conversion is a damned good reason. LOL
Guest fico
because rhd is sexy as hell thats my reason...souldnt i just use the pedals and steering column from mine already?
Stealth-Z
Just remembered, there was a thread not to long ago covering this subject. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114156&highlight=RHD
Tony D
Pedals will bend the wrong way when swapped to the other side of the car. It is FAR cheaper to simply buy a Fairlady Z and restore it than do a hacked-conversion. There was a stripped 80ZX Fairlady shell in fico's area that sold private party within the past month for $300. There is a 77 S30 2/2 in PA right now for sale as well, overpriced to be sure, but they are out there. Cheaper than the shipping and labor for a conversion of an LHD vehicle! MusPuppis
Steering rack can be rebuilt from LHD to RHD if I'm not mistaken. I dont know the details on it.. A member here did it on her GTO if I remember correctly.
Stealth-Z
how did you find those Read the complete description on this ebay listing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300044450024&rd=1&rd=1 There is even a number to call. Tony D
steering rack is the same RHD and LHD, it is inverted and the dots to line up the steering coupler is positioned at a different position between the two setups. But see, there's one listed for $750 as a complete car, and the puny L20A is being sold separately.
