GHtokyo
Hi, After my turbo rebuild and transplant to the 75 280z. I didn't have any problems. But then a few months later the engine has a chattering/clicking sound when I hit 6psi (full stock boost pressure). When it happens, my boost gauge oscillates around 4-6psi. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a problem at all? Or is that proper wastegate operation. Thanks for any comments.
GHtokyo
Hi, After driving the 280zt again for the first time in 2 weeks. I noticed the mysterious wastegate chatter. However, it got louder. It is still maybe 5-10 clicks per second, and I haven't noticed any other problems. I just want to know if I should be saving up for a new turbo? roger.svoboda
You have two items. a waste gate and a blowoff valve. The waste gate should open and regulate max pressure smoothly. The blowoff vavle is like a safety valve opens and closes no regulation. Sounds like they are working against each other. Do a search on this for more info.
