Guest ironhead
I have searched the archives and I've been unable to find an answer to my question. I know this subject has been beat to death, but here goes anyway - can someone give me a brand name and part number for an 84' 300ZX 11" solid rear rotor. I've been unable to locate these rotors at my local parts stores, they seem to be special orders. I did find one parts store that claimed to have these rotors, but they looked exactly like the 280ZX rear rotors - which are around 10" in diameter with 4 lugs. Was that a wrong part or did the 84' 300ZX come with both 10" and 11" rear rotors? I'm in the process of converting my 77' to rear discs. Are the 84' 300ZX 11" solid rotors 4 or 5 lug? Any guidance or insight would be truly appreciated. Thanks Mike
blueovalz
I put these rotors on the rear of my 240SX. I did not measure the diameter, but found them to be 1.25 inches larger than the OEM SX rotors, which would put it at about 11". Anyway, the 4 lug and 5 lug (turbo) are the exact same rotor except for the bolt pattern. I do not have the part number. If I remember, I'll measure mine tomorrow and get back (I'm at work tonight). Guest scca
instead of telling them to look up 84 look up a 85 or 86. all 86 are 5 lug and 85 turbo are 5 lug too. if your using the JTR or maxima type setup the bigger rotor is too big
Guest ironhead
The brackets I have are larger than the maxima brackets. They will allow me to use the 11" rotors. But,I need the 4 lug pattern and not the 5 lug pattern rotor.

Guest ironhead
Thanks for the input! Below is list of parts I used for the rear disc upgrade on my 77' z. It's simply the way I chose to do it. Caliper Bracket - fabricated based on the specs of the 81' Maxima bracket with one exception. The bracket was designed so 11" rotors could be used. 85' 300ZX non-Turbo rotors (4 lug) - 11" solid (Bendix # 141312) 83' 280ZX non-Turbo calipers - LH (Bendix # R45850) and RH (Bendix # R45849) 81' 280ZX non-Turbo Master Cylinder (15/16" shaft) 83' 280ZX Proportioning Valve Porterfield (carbon-kevlar) brake pads This turned out to be a pretty inexpensive bolt-on conversion. Guest scca
whats the price in the end? wondering what the definition of "inexpensive" as rebuilt 82 calipers are not cheap in my mind. what did it cost you to make the caliper bracket?
