NA_Z32
i have a freshly rebuilt L28 with an n47 head and flat top pistons. i put the early 240z su carbs on it and it runs, but after about ten minutes my msa headers started to turn white. i hope this doesnt mean that im running hella lean. or could it be that they didnt use high temp paint and its just burning off. my stock temp guage never went past the normal temp mark and my timing is set right. has anyone had anything like this happen to them? what should i check ? olie05
the header coating is just something they put on there to protect it from rusting during shipping. The white will eventually flake off and you will have a rusty header.
NA_Z32
is MSA really that cheap? that sucks.......
BillZ260
They didn't use hi-temp paint. I'm not sure that there is any spray on paint that will hold up to exhaust temps? But I'd bet that's what the issue is.

onlydrvsnissan
^^^ yup that stuff holds up. had it on my manifold for about a year now and no cracks, flakes or fading so far. 3 coats of it tho. make sure you use their primer.
