Phantom
Fired up the 280 yesterday for the first time since December 9th. That was the day after I closed on the new house and the day I moved him into his new garage. Wether since then has been much wetter and colder than normal for around here - along with 5-6" of snow that came just before Christmas and then stayed on my driveway for two weeks. I actually had to put the convertible in reverse one day, get out of the car, and then rock it until it jumped out of a small ice rut and started rolling toward the garage. That was interesting. Anyway - I was down to the Suburban with the studs for about a week as neither Z could maneuver the driveway which is over an 1/8 mile long and covered in snow that had converted to nearly 5" of ice. Parts of it stuck up far enough it was just kissing hte front spoiler on the convertible when I was finally able to get it out. Then we had a wind storm and I was clearing branches off the driveway just to be able to get out. My driveway also has about 35 or so huge trees lining it from the main road to the house. Nice inthe summer but not so fun right after a big wind. The last couple days it's been nice and I got the red Z out and enjoyed a couple short trips to work and back. Got several good comments from coworkers about the car but I really want to get it out on the street more and enjoy it. Today I'm back in at work - we're having a mintenance catch-up day and I need to keep an eye on the troops. Then I need to head back home and figure out what to do about the otters that are eating the fish in my pond. Anyway - I'm finally set up in the new place in Yakima and hooked in with the local sports cart club. Later.

Mikelly
Bill, Country living, Fine isn't it? Yea my driveway, although paved, is long enough that I can get over 50mph before making the 90 degree left around the corner of the house to enter the sideload garage. At over 400 ft. of paved asphault, the thought of snow has me thinking about buying a tractor VERY soon... Gotta love country living! spotfitz
Bill, Good to hear your all set up in your new place. I would love to see some pics. I haven't been to a Z club meeting since about the time you left. I'm just not nearly as interested as I use to be and work isn't helping out with me having spare time. Weather hasn't been all that great here, so your not missing much. Right now I'm not dealing with snow, but there is going to be a freeze this weekend right after a day of high 60* weather with lots of rain. But whats new, it's Texas. Lots of more rain and frozen roads to deal with, just in time for work come Monday. Maybe I'll have a day off to finish working on the '74. She is almost ready for the roads again. I just rebuilt the frozen rear calipers, due to the 2 1/2 year waiting period. My finger tips still feel funny after all the brake cleaner and carb cleaner. Thats the last of it besides breaking in the motor and some how getting her repainted due to the yellowing. I'm hoping to make the show in Florida. I have family there and I didn't get much time at our convention. BTW, David, I know I don't know you personally, but for someone to be so nice as to put Bill and Chris up in your own home, I would love to. What ever pics you send Bill I would like to see. The older I get the more I realize how much family means to me. My step son is in Iraq and my grand daughter is coming to visit soon and I'll have some great pics. I actually have some good pics of him just before leaving to Iraq, but I don't know if you would be interested.
