alexideways
But, for a stock RB25, it would do the job or is it at its efficiency limit right off the bat?
stagefumer11
for a stock one its fun, untill you want more, Stock boost yeah fine. After a bit of thrashing they do start to heat up.
alexideways
Good cause, I found a stock intercooler for $30 on e-bay and was wondering if it'd do the job untill I rais the funds to buy my Greddy style intake and a bigger crossflow intercooler. 300zxt
Keep in mind that the stock application for that intercooler on a Skyline is a top mount setup, and as stagefumer11 mentioned above is prone to heat soak...
alexideways
What if I mount it in the front?????
hotimport
Alex, i would probably say that the stock one wouldnt last long because its so small and ultra thin core. You will be better off with a front mount then a side mount size core, its not that its bad or it will overheat it will eventially crap out by leaking air. And since youre buying it used it might off happened allready. It just when it comes down to picking diffrent cores, i would go with something new even if its some chinese crap thats cheap, will give out after a year or so. But at least you will be on safe side. stagefumer11
actaully the skyline ones are not top mount. They are a side mount running down the side of the passengers gard. The problem with these factory cores are they are prone to splitting, Ive seen a hell of alot of "factory" used r32/r33's with split intercoolers.
