  1. $39.99 for one rocker and $1000-1500 for labor and thats a decent shop will quote you.
  2. I agree, the 350z initially had some problems with there trannys and specially in the first couple of years there were made. But if youre really wana make one work i think nothing is impossible and specially on this forum, V8, RB26, VH45, or L31TT motors in a Z car WHAT! So i guess after you done hammering the tranny tunnel you will feel like a king. Becuase with us, the more complicated it get the better it is...lol what an irony!!!
  3. Nice write up...can we maybe get a sticky on this???
  4. Nice grab...Congrats on youre motor coming in in one piece. Looks very clean and for a good price too $3500 is a steal deal even for an R32 motor makes really no diffrence when you gona be rebuilding the living hell out of it. The clutch is sure nice too.....!!! I got mine about 3 mounths back it was an R33 motor top notch clean and shinny. The ECU that you have looks like an R33 one i got a take a look on mine to double check. You mentioned that "few big indicators is that the intake plenum paint doesnt chip off" is that just indicated how much heat it was exposed to or something eles? Keep us poseted!!
  5. Funny that you mention about DE becuase they have a five year registration on there cars. Which gives them a long renewal for their car. And as a matter a fact there plates still have been using the same base as the 1972 to the present and the sticker has the same last 4 digits as youre plate for easy identification of the vehicle. The first and the smartest state Delaware
  6. Well i think if someone really wanted a sticker they would just take the whole plate off and peal the sticker off with a heat gun. The best thing to do is cut it with a blade in an X shape and then put a plastic cover over the plate so that he cant even get to it. Unless you got a screwdriver. I collect plates so i know a thing or two about protecting them. And its about $27 to replace a pair of graphicals with a sticker...and about $16 for a pair of regural passenger tags with a sticker. Thats prices for IL DMV... and down side to it is that you have to go to the DMV to fill in the replacement form and wait for about 4 weeks.
  7. WELCOME!!! Its nice to have a few rare ppl from Chicago checking in to are greatest forum for Z enthusiasts on the planet earth. This site will give you so much info that it will take another year to render everything in youre brain... So read on...and again WELCOME to the HybridZ club!!!
  8. Thats Great News!!! Something to celebrate...
  9. sorry to hear that man, hopefully you will be able to sourt out a refund...
  10. Yeah i have heard about this before with the Autopower cages. Oh well thats just the way they make them. How much did you pay for youre cage? Its the bolt in version right?
  11. Now thats a shop that you can trust... with out a doubt!
  12. I dont know why i imagine to pick the screen name like this. But its always either ricers, "hondas", hybrids or hybridzers. But w/e it is its all improrted one way or another. Well thats how i came up with mine.
  13. Oh man did u guys see the game, oh my that was amazing, i won $120 since i was so close to predicting the score. It was amazing. Last year the SOX won the world series, now its time for the Bears to get there chance and i hope they will win the Super Bowl, looking forward to the game and of course the win. GO BEARS!!!
  14. Holy smokes, i really wana see this car running thats one amazing build up.
  15. Uh intresting wouldnt they be diffrent flange types diffs? Or the cover it self is pretty universal other then size...
  16. How long will these transmissions last? If their internals are the same as the Z32 then does anyone know of an upgraded syncro/gear setup that would work? Kind of odd that there is no one on here that has pushed these transmissions to their limit, none that I could find anyway. Well i see what you saying and to be honest with you there is people on this forum that have pushed their trannys and RB motors to its limits. Its just not clear to me when it will aproximatelly give out and what will give out. These trannys are pretty strong and you need alot of balls and power to totally brake them. This is just an example of a guy here " His car dynoed and high 500 hp that you drive around allmost every other day and have no problems in the driveline. Now you take the car to the track once in awhile and it performs well with no problems and runs low 11's. Here is the other senario, you take the car to the drag strip to race that you have build only for a drag strip where bad things happened to the tranny like miss shifts, gear grinding and etc... In these 2 cases its most likelly to happen to the car that gets alot of abuse on the track." The guy that took his car to the limits his name J Taylor found him self with a smoking piston after he raced a Viper but hes tranny was absolutelly fine as far as i know. And thats with an RB25 with stock internals. Now as you mention before that people brake everything eles on chassis before they brake their tranny. Thats just simply because the tranny will need to be beaten so hard on before something will happen to it then the driveline componets. Because the RB motor class is a tough cockie to brake that easilly. On the rebuilding end i beleive that OS Giken makes some quality parts to rebuild these RB tranys or the other choice would be to just swap out for unbrakebale tranny like TH350 for extreme choice of power and abuse. Just my .02 cents on these tought.
  17. Farewell understood... Thanks for the best place on the plannet earth of thee e-thernet.
  18. I am from IL and this by far one of the most wormest winters i had here. It snowing today but not that bad maybe a could of inches but thats as bad as it gets unless we get a storm here that will bring about 5-8 inches then schools get canceled people cant get to work and its like a natural dissaster here.
  19. This is actually very intresting to me, you guy saying that the R32, R33 and R34 gearbox is are diffrent? And Ripper from AU is saying that the R33 tranny is by far the strongest. Wel I dont really agree with that. The R33 tranny has the strongest synchros that is probably true but as far is gearing and everythig eles goes its the same and the bellhousing too because it plays a big roll in substantial to the engine in transforming the power. I have a an R34 RWD tranny that seems to have a better stronger bellhousing then the other 2 and stronger gear set, but there all the same component built. Just like the quote from RB motoring site said, it will most likelly last to about 600-700 HP just like quoted below. Anythig more powerful then that would needs to be rebuild to with stand high HP numbers. "quote" The Getrag in an R34 requires its own special oil.The oil is available from Toyota dealerships and its $40 a liter. The Getrag does not like Shockproof Heavy, so don't use it in it.. OS Giken transmission internal upgrades for the R32-R33 seem to be good up to 700 hp. My biggest concern with these trannys is you can push high numbers but unless you would really drag youre car you dont have to worry much about it. But when something brakes do you really want to rebuild the tranny or replace it with for example the stronger TH350 tranny or something in that nature, and the other thing is how long will it hold until you have to totally rebuild it?
  20. Those diff are sure rare, and i remeber watching this auction. Same guy was selling off his car and bunch of other parts. I am not really sure what would you use this diff for? Its not as strong as the R200 unit and there allmost no one thas sells new LSD units for it. So my guess would probably be somewhere in $300-500 range depending on condition.
  21. I am not sure where i have seen this post but, I belive that it said from an 87-89 Toyota Supra. Or they could of been of some GM car and the Supra ones are just very similar to the ones Joel have bought. This needs to be double checked for sure...
  22. Alex, i would probably say that the stock one wouldnt last long because its so small and ultra thin core. You will be better off with a front mount then a side mount size core, its not that its bad or it will overheat it will eventially crap out by leaking air. And since youre buying it used it might off happened allready. It just when it comes down to picking diffrent cores, i would go with something new even if its some chinese crap thats cheap, will give out after a year or so. But at least you will be on safe side.
  23. Thanks for clarifying this info, i actually didnt know that even if youre car is still older then 25 years it would have to get checked for smog testing but not as often. Its just seems to me that if the car is that old it still wouldnt pass, but they would still let you drive it out there with a paper stating that you did pass. I dont even know if its better or worce passing or failing. One more thing that i just want to throw out there. Last year I heard something about new bill will be getting passed for emission testing facilities only will be testing cars that are 1995 and up. Well it still didnt happened here yet but it seems that some mechanics are actually starting to believe that this will happened soon or later as a metter a fact, i think that there is one or two states that had passed that out allready.
  24. I dont really play that much of this WoW bullshit, but with this expansion out in everything you have to get to lvl 60 or w/e and then u enter the Dark Portal and lvl up too 70. So here is my point of this story is that it takes probably about 3-4 mounths depending on how much time u spend staring into youre monitor and then u reach lvl 60 and bam, after that it will probably take u the same amount of time to reach lvl 70 and bam, then what...? LOL Blizzard will make something new...what a joke.
  25. Man sorry to hear about this none sence, but i guess just call it the beatiful state of California all of these crazy people need a crazy Governor. Maybee you guys better off just sending a letter to Arnold and see what he can do. BTW isnt there a 25 rule for no smog required by the state? Just curious... since here in IL we use AV registration for 10 years with no smog requirements and youre car can be as loud as 120 db and they cant to s%&t to you.
