jkgts1
I read the post about differential identification, but am still a little confused. According to the article/post a 76 280Z with a 5spd should have a long nose R200, and a 74 260Z 4spd should have a R180, correct? Then I read in a book that all manual 240,260 and 280Zs have the R200 and the automatics have the R180. I just want to be sure what I have. I want to swap out the R200 from the 76 280Z to replace the R180 that I have in my 74 260Z. Is this correct? Thanks, jkgts1
bjhines
Hmm there are some known errors in some of the manuals... You can look at the sides of the differential and tell the difference btw the R180 and the R200... The R180 has a ring of bolts around the halfshaft output flanges... The R-200 has no bolts on the sides at all...

MONGO510
If I recall correctly the 260Z 2+2 4spd used a R-200. The 2+2 auto used a R180. I do not remember the ratios. Sorry, It was 30 years ago.
