Ron240zxt
Ok lets vote. KYB non adjustable or tokico non adjustable. The car will be used as a daily driver & and needs to be able to transfer weight fast to the rear tires during a launch. Most of you are going to say get adjustable, i will if you can help chip in for them. Strapped for cash unfortunally.. KYB $169.00 for all four Tokico $239.00 for all four Thanks Ron

Mikelly
I'd hands down go with the Tokicos. They last a long time, and are known to be durable and reliable... The KYB units for Zs have some bad history (That I know of anyway) and I'm not partial to swapping blown cartidges! Mike

johnc
The Tokicos are a better built, higher quality product than the KYBs. Whether that's worth more to you or not...?
Guest JAMIE T
Ron Jones, for your car, I would recommend the Tokico adjustables. Setting them on the softest setting is like having drag struts. Thats what all the mustang racers do when they have street/strip cars. They can set them mid way for daily driving and soften them up when straight line traction is needed. You would be able to tune them to track conditions also. Try them on all the settings to see how the car reacts
Modern Motorsports Ltd
For true hardcore 1320 launches is the tokico stiffness desireable? I know it's been discussed about launch geometry etc............tokico's don't get 'soft' at all like a 90/10 drag strut etc...on their 'softest' setting a tokico is still somewhat stiff. Fine by handling/road racing types, not sure how perfect it is for diehard 1320? (don't think theirs much of an option/alternative though right?) Guest RON JONES
So there isn't any Drag struts made for a 280Z?My only optin is the adustable, and set it as loose as I can?what about KYB,do they have an adjustable that might be looser than the Tokico?thanks.Ron
Mikelly
The one thing you could do Ron is find a set of the old factory units that actually come appart. You could play with the oil viscosety to get the best feel for your car. Mind you, it would involve some work, but you could do it. Your other optionis to contact a strut manufacturer and have them built. I know my guys in Northern California are having some custom bilsteins made for their 240Z Solo Pro car. Guest Anonymous
Consider a third option, www.Koni-na.com They make just about anything and can modify stock koni componets to meet your needs if they don't already have something that will work.
