DrEaM
ok so i'm starting to frustrate myself trying to figure out wher i want to buy my shocks/springs from.. i want tokico illuminas and i've heard many people say that the tokico springs are TERRIBLE but at the moment i don't really car about having a cadillac ride.. i kinda like to feel the road.. i mean i think my moms '01 corvette rides perfect and my friends evolution mr rides like a sports sedan should to me.. ok so let me get to the point.. if i was to buy my suspension from msa it would be somewhere around 600$ with the eibach springs... but if i can get the whole tokico set for less i think thats the way i'll go so the illumina set is 572$ from these guys http://www.performancecenter.com/product/Lowering+Kits+%26+Handling/Lowering+Kits/0/0/0/NISSAN/1976/280Z?brandname=Tokico 538$ http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/tokico/products?session_id=a207394446ce7dc49dc06c69a3b02d0b 513$ http://www.shox.com/appguide/shoxshop/productsdisplay.php 505$ on ebay so my question is... are any of these places reputable? (i know about ebay) but i don't currently have a credit card and i was going to use my debit (visa) to purchase the set and i just wasn't sure where to pick them up from
JMortensen
shox.com is well known. If you pick one of the ebay sites that only does suspension and has hundreds or thousands of positive feedbacks with few or no negatives you're probably good to go. A debit card with a Visa logo gives you all the same fraud protection as a credit card. It's still a Visa.
wheelman
I have Tokico blue HP struts and their lowering springs on my 240Z. The springs are not terrible they just aren't what they are advertised to be, or should I say "NOT" advertised to be. When I bought them I erroneously assumed the springs were linear both front and rear. I didn't contact Tokico to verify this and when I installed them found the fronts are progressive and the rears are linear. This isn't what I wanted. They also lowered the car more than the advertised 1" but that can be blamed on the extra weight of the LT1. Anyway they ride pretty good until I hit any significant bump and then will bottom out. I just ordered coilovers so if you are interested I'll make you a deal on the springs. Wheelman
DrEaM
yeah i've just wanted the illuminas.. it seems like thats the setup that alot of guys end up putting on their cars but with the eibach springs instead of the tokico springs... i guess i'll buy the ones off of ebay.. they are a little but cheaper then the ones from shox.com so i guess if they are still there i'll just go ahead and pick them up from there thanks for the reply's guys... oh yeah i was just wondering have you guys ever thought about a suspension faq with a list of reputable websites to buy from?
