veritech-z
I thought I read somewhere that the Maxima had a mid sump? I'm pretty sure there are clearance issues on the L28et in some fashion, but I don't remember exactly what they were. What's the problem with just bolting on the turbo stuff though? GrayZee
I thought the L28 was rear sumped? I would say, just turbo the LD (turbo plus desiel = good for air and economy, that would be my excuse anyways ) and cam it. It would a nasty little desiel car. L28's ARE rear sumped, but the L24s in a 77-84 810/Maxima are front sumped. Seeing gas and diesel Maxima engines are in the same Maxima chassis, I would bet the diesels are front sumped too. bschiltz
You could always run a dry sump set-up
GeeZ
I put a L28 into a '84 Maxima with 5sp and it ran great. As I remember, the mechanic had to change the pan, modify the pickup and re-indexed the dip stick. I didn't pay much to have this done, so it could not have been a big deal. I lent the car to an employee and he wreaked it, so gave him the title and took it out of his pay. I do miss it because I could put all kinds of stuff in the back seat.
