johnc Posted February 5, 2010 Share Posted February 5, 2010 The length of the spacer depends on the thickness of the flange on the LSD. That thickness varies by LSD manufacturer. There is no definite answer regarding the length of the bolt sleeve. Measure the flange thickness of the differential you are installing and then subtract .5mm. That's the approximate maximum length of the bolt sleeve. I and others have successfully used these steel backed PTFE bronze sleeve bearings from McMaster-Carr: http://www.mcmaster.com/#6679K14 You can also source tubing of the correct ID and machine the correct OD, you can source metric tubing of the correct ID and OD, or you can assembly the unit without any sleeve bearings.
