AN fittings on stock FPR?

This may sound like a silly question but here we go.

Is there anyway that you can cut the ends off the inputs/outputs for the stock FPR and then flare them to use AN fittings of some type. I want to use braided hose for my fuel system, but the stock FPR will meet my needs at the moment. I don't really want an aftermarket FRP right now (trying to stay on budget) but don't want all sorts of different hoses, adapters, fittings and such (trying to go for a cleaner look).

Thanks in advance gang.

I am not sure what a FPR is but I take it is a fuel pump. If the nipples are long enough they make hard line fittings that mate to an fittings. It is a sleeve that slips over the line. 1st you will place the hex head over the line then the slip ring and then the other piece, it is a compression fitting. They offer them in diffirent sizes like 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 inch.

Hope this helps....

I've cut off the hose barbs on a 280ZX FPR and stuck compression fittings on it. Russel makes a line of compression to AN fittings that would be just about perfect. Compression fittings use no flares, and are a bit easier since you don't have to deal with a flaring tool and the flare nut on there at the same time. There really isn't much room to make flares on there.

the AN fittings are single flare 30 degree fittings and require a special flare tool. i have even flared the stock fuel rail to accept the AN fittings. the stock rail is a dash5 line, so i used dash 6 and it worked, but is temporary. always size the line correctly to prevent leaks. if your gonna use a fpr, just spend some cash and get the proper one that can be used with AN fittings, its safer and more serviceable when something happens

AN fittings on a budget? good luck...ive probably spent nearly 500 on all the ones i've got so far, and i'm not even done yet.

You can save a lot on AN fittings (~50%) if you go with steel rather than aluminum. Some people like blue/red anodizing, though (myself not included).
