S30TRBO
I am using Modern Motorsports CV companion flange with 280Z stub axles. I am also converting to rear disc using Modern Motorsports brackets. Is the metal backing plate located behind the stub axle needed? The reason that I am asking is that I am painting the stub axles (minus the shaft;)) and I need to know if those need to be reinstalled when I put new studs in it? It’s the square bracket that is held in once the studs are in place from behind. Thanks,
johnc
If you are talking about the sheet metal stamping that's behind the stub axle flange, not you don't need it but it does help keep crap out of the outer wheel bearing.
