auxilary
Installed the r200, hooked up the driveshaft, diff mount, control arms, etc. Guess what? 3 bolts for the front rear diff crossmember go in ok, but no, the 4th one has to be the difficult one that's stripped on the inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if I can tap it out, and if I do, i might have to go a bolt larger. more PITA, and i am not sure if i can make the rio vista with my own car now. Mike C
When I pulled the 5 speed out of my car the last time, same thing. I removed the existing threads with a drill bit and cut new ones for the closest bolt I could find. Still holding for the time being! Kinked_Chrome
you could always use a helicoil thread insert to stay with the original bolt size.
auxilary
well, fortunately, I was able to tap the new threads in in the same pitch, and use the stock bolt - so now the control arm is secure on the driver's side. downside for today - screwed up threading from previous owner on hte rear spindles that hook up to the half shafts - now i have to get those new 27mm nuts for htem, and hopefully everything's ok
