ARiskyCvt Posted April 22, 2007 Share Posted April 22, 2007 Im taking out the rear drum brakes and now the base of the drum has to go. But I am DYING!!!! I cant even takeout the nut from the spindle. I have the slide hammer and everything ready to rock but for the past todays I been trying to ger the nut off. is there a trick to this??? or should i just cut it off? When you say spindle, I assume you mean stub axle (because there is a "spindle" pin on the rear strut, but that does not need to be removed to change brakes) due to the fact that the spindle pin nuts are very easy to remove, but the stub axle nut is very hard to remove. There is a wealth of information on this subject under SEARCH. Stub axle removal is not required for this conversion (I did it by Sawzall'ng the backing plate in half).
