Guest kc6wfs
Bump... Anyone know? Dave
jeromio
This'll be a sucky answer, but I'm fairly certain that the rears are different - longer in the 280. I could be wrong though.
Guest Anonymous
According to MSA and VB catalogs the spring #'s are different for the 240 and 280 series. but KYB lists their GR2 struts as a universal fit for all the fronts but not the rears. Illumina's list seperate #'s for both fronts and rears of 240 and 280's The front springs might work but not the rears according to the #'s

Mike C
The rear strut tubes are larger diameter on the 280. I think the springs will work (no guarantee) but they are designed for the lighter weight of the 240. Hopefully somebody can confirm. gramercyjam
I did the other way around. Put spring from my 83 turbo after it was wrecked in my '73. As I recall I also used the front struts from the '83 as well. The car sits up high like a 4X4 now. And that is after I cut a coil off the springs. It could still stand to have a couple of coils cut off. I like the hard ride though. Call me crazy. Gramercyjam
