Hey List,

Now that I got my car back on the road again. I need

to know what people are using for brake fluid. I plan on finishing

up the rest of the autocross season and get in a few two day

road course schools. I am still using the stock brake set up, but

plan on new pads, shoes, brake lines and a new master cylinder.

Thanks !!

Thanks Guys,

I will have to mail order it. I doubt I will find it locally.

Motul 600 as John suggested has great wet and dry properties

and is reasonable priced. I will pick up a couple of bottles this

week.

I've never had fluid fade in the Z (~200 rwhp) at the track with any DOT4 fluid (Castrol, Valvoline synthetic, etc.) or Ford Heavy Duty (DOT3, but higher dry boiling point than off-the-shelf DOT4s). Fresh fluid for EVERY event, of course. What pads are you going to use? Shoes? I've done well with Porterfield R4s, Carbotech Panthers and Panther XPs, and with Nissan shoes. Tried track compound shoes once, but they required a lot more frequent adjustments than the Nissan shoes.

I have heard good things about the Castrol brand brake fluid.

It is great to get some input from people who have actually used

some of these products.

I have been researching front pads also , and had alot of feedback

on the Carbotech pads. Seems a few people think the Porterfields

used up rotors pretty quick, but that was with thier race compounds.

Not much feedback on the Hawk pads though.

For the rear shoes I have had a few replies on using the Napa Brand

rear shoes.

Lots more fun working on a car that actually runs again smile.gif
