jknc90
After exams today I was followoing my friend in my 240z to his house to pick something up before going to lunch. When i parked in his driveway and shut the car off, there was a pop and then a sort of hissing noise and I noticed there was a little coolant around the cap and on the ground. The driveway is kind of steep and the car was pointed nose down the driveway if that has anything to do with it. The temp guage was fine. And it drove fine when I was driving it to my house to swap cars (maybe 5 minutes away at the most). can somebody help? I dont know why it happened. Thanks Jon
lbhsbZ
Take the cap off and check the condition of the 2 rubber gaskets and also the condition of the sealing surfaces on the radiator filler neck. If the gaskets look worn, replace the cap. If the mating surfaces aren't smooth, replace the radiator. Let the engine cool off before you remove the cap.
