Phoenix guys

I know this is late notice, but I plan to go up to the Pavillions show tomorrow. I have been here in Phoenix for a year now and have never been to this show. I finally have the '73 Skyline all registered and insured and plan to take it up there. I'd like to meet up with some of you guys. I don't know what time it really gets going, but I figured 6 or so sounded good.

Very nice cars, guys. Saw both of them up there on Saturday. I stumbled across this thread while looking to see if any of the local Z guys were active on this board. My brother used to own a 350 SBC 240Z, so I've known about the board for a long time, but this is the first time I've checked it out since moving here.

I was mostly trying to see if the owner of the red LS1 280Z below was on the board. Cool to see that there are quite a few members here that go up there. I actually always take pics while up there, here's a link to all of them. Just thought I'd share. Here's a couple preview pics, along with some pics of that LS1 280 I was talking about.

Also, is there a Phoenix Z club? I looked for one a while back (for the links section of my site), but all I came across with the Tucson club.

EDIT: ZDrifter, I somehow managed to miss that you had a RB in your Z. Cool stuff.

There are a couple of Z car clubs here in the Valley.

DesertZAssociation.com

AZ350Z.com

WestsideZ.com

Not many Hybrid owners are in any of them. You will find only find the older styles at DesertZ. I am a "member in hiding" still waiting to get my two hybrids on the street.

The red one is Dan Fink, who attends teh DesertZ events and misc. car shows around town. His is recently finished and is a member on here as well. I think there are about 10 Arizona hybrid Z owners on this board.

Those are some very good pics. This was my first time at the Pavilions and I must say I really enjoyed myself. I was there for about 4 hours and the time just flew by. It really is an impressive collection of cars. I did have one point of contention though. Originally when I arrived I pulled into a section market "Classic/Exotic/Muscle/Pre-75" and was asked to move my car to the "Import" section. Not that it affected my enjoyment of the show, but my car technically fits 3 of the 4 categories listed. It became blatantly obvious that this section is for American Classic cars only. I would prefer someone just make that the name of the section instead of pretending it is anything other than that. As it was I parked between another Hybrid member and a couple early 911's. And next to them was an Astin Martin then the requisite riced out Hondas. So, "Import" really is all imported cars. Again, this is more of an observation than any kind of gripe. I ended up meeting and speaking with a wide assortment of people about every type of car. I will most likely not be out again for a few weeks as my car will be going under the knife. I hope to see more Hybrid members next time.

Thanks. Yeah, that actually didn't even add the "Imports" section until recently. Before they all had to basically park over by the bikes and they'd sometimes kick them out... Though, sometimes I can't blame them. I tend to leave fairly early as things start to get kind dicey as things get dark. Ricey imports, low-riders, etc come out in full... not really my thing. Sadly but not surprisingly, it seems as the average age decreases, so does the quality of the cars/atmosphere (and this is coming from a 22yo).

LOL, the DZA has been there for years on a monthly basis. Just this year attendance got too low to justify our 30 car reservation. True it is geared towards the american car types but we gave them a run for their money pretty regularly. There are some some other car shows around town and if someone organized a bi-monthly showing at different locations you would probably see an increase in Z car attendance.

Almost every local hybrid member I know in town aren't into the showing off side of car shows since most people don't understand what they are looking at.

i was there for a little bit on the first meet, and i must say, i was impressed by the showings of both the gtr skyline, and zdrifters car. you both had really nice rides, what i wish would have happened though was all the Z's park together, because 1 fast Z and his crew were a few parking lots west of where zdrifter and akwikz was, but i do want to thank everyone, i went to my shop sunday morning and was busting ass trying to get the FJ20 wired up. you guys defintely motivated me, to say the least. im not too anxious to drive the Z around in this rain and during summer, but hopefully towards the end of august, early september, i'll be parked right next to you guys :D . peace till next time! and keep this thread going cause im still down to stop by even though i won't be in my 280.

I will be out of town this weekend, but I think we should make a real effort to be out there on a regular basis. While I may or may not have my car running in the next few weeks I would still like to meet up with you guys.
