CruiZZZin 78
I have searched and haven't found anything to help. I think I have a wierd problem. This is my first time removing a heater core so understand I'm learning here. I can get the heater core about half way out but then its like its hitting something inside the heater box or something. What am I missing, any ideas?

This is my first time removing a heater core so understand I'm learning here. I can get the heater core about half way out but then its like its hitting something inside the heater box or something. What am I missing, any ideas? Just muscle it straight out; not at an angle. I just removed mine a few weeks ago. There are some spindly bits inside there above it (IIRC) and it must be pulled straight out. The cover panel is removed first I think. Do you have a Haynes manual? Lots of helpful diagrams. BillZ260
Once you have the flap/door pc removed, then it should come right out.
CruiZZZin 78
Got it out, I came to find the reason it was being a pain in butt is because the core that was leaking was from another car, it doesn't match the replacment one I have... I geuss the previous owner couldn't find a replacement 280z core and shoved a different one in instead. But anyway, no more small ponds of coolant in the floor of my car. Thanks for the replys.
