Guest Anonymous
I just finished posting some more pics on my website documenting the installation of the driver's side subframe connector if any of you all are interested. I hope to have the remainder of the pics up by the end of the week. Chris http://homestead.juno.com/ccloude/V8280Z.html
Guest RisqueRace?
This is awesome Chris, I am going the same route soon, and to see it done, right before my very eyes is worth a ton! Unfortunatly I have to continue forward and replace the entire forward frame (accident damage) although not bad, I just want it, Outta here. If you know what I mean. The cars shell is only 67K miles and zero rust, nice interior, and is worth doing this. Plus I jus Love a project Thanks for all your pics, Keep them coming!! Really nice fabricating work ! Guest Anonymous
Bruce, Thanks for the kind words... I kind of wish I had went on and gone all the way forward with the frame rails but mine did not have any rust, but it would have been nice. My car was hit on the passenger side front and that frame rail has a very small "kink" in it forward of the crossmember mounting holes. Mike Kelly and I measured everything on the car and it is square so I guess I'll just let it go... Have you looked at Pete's site, he did replace the frame rails all the way forward and they look very good... Chris
Danno74Z
Chris, I also want to say thanks for the frame rail update. I will also be doing this to my car and the pictures and details really help. I was in Oakton, VA last weekend and I tried to linkup with Mike but everybody had things going on and I had to drive up to NYC to visit relatives. I did have a good phone conversation with Mike - One really nice guy! Take Care, Dan
Guest Drewz
Sweet! That is exactly what mine looks like except for my car not being on its side. Are you going to get the cars frame checked for straightness? I did before finishing and found that it was out a bit but a minor frame pull fixed it for a good price Nice job! ------------------ The only stupid question is one you wanted to ask but never did!!! Guest Anonymous
Drewz, When I get it down off of the rotisserie I am considering taking it to be checked out...I have ALOT of friends that were in the body shop business so I am going to ask a couple of them to take a look at it to see what they think. So far all of the measurements I have pulled on it and Mike and I have pulled indicate that it is straight... Chris
Guest Frank280z
Chris, That car is going to be sweet. The rotisserie is the best tool for these projects. lol. Frank ------------------ Build it. Drive it. Improve it.
Guycali
Chris, What do you measure on the car to determine if the body & chassis are straight? Thanks for the info. -Guycali
Mikelly
Guycali, Chris is no longer a member of the board. I now own the car, and we pulled measurements off my other car, a 74Z to approximate the measurements to the 76car... The rails turned out really nice, thus showing the true worth of a nice rottisary! Mike Kelly
