OlderThanMe
Nice! That is a little expensive looking. It looks like it uses 2 TPS sensors? I need my ITB's to be as low profile as possible because of hood clearance and be able to fit a turbo back there on top. Thanks for the pic! Mind you that I have a slim budget because I am going to be buying all my own tools as I go on this build. I have seen MarcG's videos. Very nice (and FAST) Z! also: http://www.youtube.com/user/marcguimont
Some-Guy
Looks like you have it well planned out man. Sounds like its going to be pretty wild and bloody FAST
Guest da-man (is not!)
I'd like to resurrect this thread just a bit. Have you decided on a trans for this car yet? What options are you looking at? I'm interested in the same motor for my own swap, but would only do it with a manual.
OlderThanMe
hehe. I am going to use the auto trans. I hav a feeling the VG30DE trans would explode after a couple power adders. I am going to work with the EMS(wolf) that I will be using and try to manually control the transmssion(little paddles behind steering wheel) I think a set of paddles from an RX8 would do nicely... I am going to be building the manifolds with turbocharging in mind but will be driving it around N/A until I can get the tranny set up and get the EMS tuned and running well. I am also going to buy some fabricatioon tools and start turboing imports, etc... to make some money to pay for all of the VH stuff. Sorry that I have been gone for so long. Lunar240z
I'm curious why the top mount turbo intrigues you so... it seems like it would be such a packing nightmare. Just something different?
OlderThanMe
I think I have changed my mind about the top mount...lol I'll probably end up with a GT42-ish turbo mounted up front. There may be room to mount it low on the passenger side though. I'll decide when I have the motor in the engine bay. Dan
Lunar240z
hmmm 4" DP coming out of the fender? or hood?
OlderThanMe
I'd probably run a 4" tube back to the tranny tunnel and then split into dual 2.5" tubes. I'll decide during test-fitting. I don't think sidepipes would really work with the design sketches I have for the body. I may have to move the alternator elsewhere in the vehicle. nbesheer
Read this page http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=126072&page=3 it says 4" into 2 2.5" is too small.
