Guest Pegasus76
alright, I bought a Z from a guy who put a 73 350 camaro engine and a t5 out of a 85 camaro...I thought the rear end was stock but some guy at the machine shop says different. I could of sworn Datsun had a rearend of which the yoke flange on the differential bolts off. If I am right, which year would they have put that in the Datsuns...If I am wrong, well then damn...Stick a thumb in my ass
Mike C
Do you mean the side yoke for the halfshaft? The r180 had bolt on retainer plates behind the flange, but the r200 is one piece.
denny411
The r180`s have one bolt in the center of the splined shaft holding it into the differential. The r200`s have a snap ring that holds the shaft into the diff, regardless of whether or not the halfshaft unbolts from it or not. I have a 77 with a 180 that the splined shaft will not unbolt from the halfshaft, but still has a bolt in the center holding the shaft into the diff. Guest Pegasus76
Thanks alot guys, looks like I have the standard r200 differential...The yoke flange unbolts without the spline shaft.
Guest Pegasus76
It's the yoke which connects into the differential
