opie
I picked some up months ago and want to make sure they are correct for a disc swap. The 82 caliper I tried them on in the yard bolted up, but I'm not sure about the offset. I can't post a pic here, but I can send an email pic, tomorrow if anyone can help. Thanks, Doug. Tim240z
Doug, I have a pic on my old Yahoo site, see if it's the same: pics Tim
opie
Thanks Tim. It's not identical. The mounting surface on mine is not circular. It's irregular shaped (boltholes look the same) and the NA 280ZX caliper that fit the bracket was the later style. It looked just like the 83 turbo one. It didn't look like the cal on your site. I did see a diesel Max in the same jyard with that style of caliper, with that extra plate/hanger looking thing. The mounting face on mine has eight sides: 4 long and 4 short ones. It is mostly a trapazoid; the front side is the shortest, the back (caliper side) is the tallest and they are parallel. The top and bottom are equal length (but not parallel) like they are pinching the front down shorter. Each side is connected with a small corner like the R200 diff. The offset looks like you cut 2 ears off of the flush surface of the mounting face and welded them back on the side so that the overhead view is a dogleg. Boy a pic would be alot easier. CruxGNZ
Doug, If you don't have the rotors yet for the swap, I have brand new rotors (only 12 miles on them), name a price if you're interested. I switched to slotted solid rotors. !M!
Synlubes
Hey Mat73GNZ Do you have pics you could send?
opie
Thanks "M". Might very well be able to use those, but I'm still trying to figger which style I'd need, though. Aren't there 2 different styles of rotors for different brackets? Wanna see a pick to tell me if I got the right ones? Doug.
Guest Anonymous
1st Gen Z ... It is my understanding that the Maxima bracket that you are looking for comes off a Diesel Maxima and is why Tim's correct Maxima bracket photo looks like the one on "the diesel Maxima in the Junkyard" I have been looking for these brackets in a junkyard and never found one but you can be certain if Tim 240 Z sez it is the correct bracket in the photo.... it is. Tim240z
TZ, Actually, mine came off a spark combustion Maxima. I see them just about every time I go to the JY....I hesitate to offer pulling some for you guys only because it is a REAL PITA to do in the 'Yard'. opie
I didn't dispute anyone. I just want someone to look at the little picture of my brackets and tell me (sob) if they are correct. Thanks, Doug. It is generally understood that there are 2 styles of rear setups. Tim, these were such a PITA, that I refuse to go back and get anymore. Tim240z
Doug, I think that they should work. If you want, I'll measure the back spacing (off set) on mine and let you know. I was always under the impression that all the bolt up brackets would work. Tim
opie
I think they probably will. scca Mike said he got some that don't work...I think they wouldn't accept a 280ZX caliper. These accept a caliper, I just wonder if they would locate the caliper too far in or out from the center point. Guess I'll have to go to the effort of trying. Thanks all. D. CruxGNZ
I'll see if I can get a photo for you guys. My digital camera is on the fritz, so I'll see what I can do. !M! (Mat)

CruxGNZ
It's been a while (sorry, just got the camera working), but if there still is any interest in my rear rotors, I have them up for sale in the "Buy/sell/trade" section. !M!
