TeeJayHoward
I've got a crappy hood I don't like. I want to replace it with the stock hood. However, I'm having a hell of a time finding the stock hood and associated mounting hardware for a '76 280Z. Would the hood from a 240 or 260 fit? What differences are there between the three cars? Poundz9oh9
Yes, all are the same aside from vents added to the latter years..
zlalomz
There is a thread over on ClassicZcar about series one hoods and their differences from later hoods. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27591&highlight=hoods
Poundz9oh9
Ok, let me re-phrase that so that what I was trying to convey comes out exactly how it is intended... All of the S30 (69-78) series will bolt up to your 76.

zlalomz
Oops, sorry I wasn't saying you were wrong. The information about the early hoods was new to me so I just wanted to share.

johnc
Man, I'm glad I'm not a purist. Talk about pickin' at nits. Different strokes. One day I plan to do a "to the letter" restoration of a series 1 240Z. The fun in that kind of effort is the hunt for the parts and making everything perfect.
