Trailer Hubs To Fit Front S30 5 Lug

Recommended Posts

I KNOW IT HAS BEEN TRIED

ANYONY HAVE A BOLT ON SET UP WITH NO MACHINING?

TRAILER HUBS ARE EASY TO COME BY AND INEXPENSIVE.

I DRILLED MY REAR HUBS FOR 5X4.5 AND NEED SOME FRONT HUBS.

KNOW ABOUT THE S31 HUBS BUT THEY ARE HARDER TO GET AND MORE EXPENSIVE AND i WANT SLIP ON ROTORS.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS KNOW.

THANKS

Curious... What About The Guys Who Have Caps At The Beginning Of Each Word. That Takes A Lot Of Work.

That's what happens if your entire post is in caps. The vBulletin software does that automatically. The reason it didn't happen in Tony's case is because he tried to capitalize "I" and so that one letter came in lower case. If he hadn't done that the first letter of each word would have been capitalized.

No I don't talk in all caps. well not all the time. mostly I am very excited and use alot of Cool! Awesome! Rite On. Sweet! Nice..

I ride or drive the stretch of 129 known as the "Dragon" a couple times a week and have for the past 19 years. it is an awesome place and the reason I moved here so long ago.

If anyone from this forum ever comes here they should look me up. I have made thousands of passes and am very firmilliar with the road and surrounding area.

now is the wrong time of year to visit. too many patrol cars rite now to have a fun time and WAY too many visitors, mostly inexperianced, making it a very dangerous place this time of year.

so is it OK to start a new thread about trailer hubs now???

We can keep this thread. I don't know of any trailer hubs that have specs to match what's on the front of a Z. I do have a complete RIGID/Reliable catalog and all the hubs listed are designed to work with drum brakes. There doesn't appear to be a provision for bolting a rotor to the hub.

I was thinking about the rotor. since we'll be using 5x4.5 bolt patern then how about a slip on rotor?

Ford has plenty different offsets and diameters to chose from, like taurus, exploder I mean explorer, mustang, ranger, etc. or rx7 slip ons.

I'm sure there is alot more.

seems like alot of new cars like Scion [i think] has that bolt patern as well

also I am not talking about some cheapo low grade hubs. some of what I have looked at have the same bearing diameters and 1700 to 2000 load rating. Some are even stainless but I question that.

Making brackets to offset calipers is fairly easy and talked about plenty

I am just thinking .probably just wishful thinking. that there has to be a hub out there that will swap rite on. maybe have to get a different seal or a small adjustment to spmething.

what do you think?

You might PM Austin, 240hoke and see if he'll respond here. He adapted Vette hubs to his Z. I know that the bearing sizes we use are VERY common domestic car sizes. The issues are going to be the seal (which I think is pretty easily dealt with), and finding the right hat depth and then making a caliper bracket.
