very stupid ?: brake resevoir cap removal...

Its an early 260z. How are you supposed to pull these caps off? I can see a little metal retainer band thingie around the edge of each plastic cap that has two little hooks coming down over a lip moulded into the resevoir, but there is no relief in the lip where you'd twist a half turn and just pull up or whatever. How are they supposed to come off normally?

I would just pry, but I don't want to end up screwing up an O ring or something...

Turn it 90* or so, either direction, whichever way it will go. Then lift it off.

there are reliefs on the diagonals of each reservoir. turn the metal retainer counterclockwise to where one of the reliefs on one cap is pointing in the direction of the passenger side headlight. then you'll be able to pull it off. hopefully it's the same on your 260 as it is on my 240.
